training.

Career

Sports

Keith has always been involved in sports...first as a player, then a sportswriter and later as an on-field Doctor. As much as he knows and loves all sports, his first love is baseball. Keith played from the time he could walk and logged numerous no-hitters and shutouts during his time on the mound.  He attended Lee University on a full baseball scholarship and in 2002 was inducted into Lee’s Baseball Hall of Fame.  According to Keith, the only thing that kept him out of the majors was talent because no one has ever loved the game more.  Some baseball fanatics claim they never miss a game.  Keith tries to never miss a pitch, especially when it’s the Braves, and he can rattle off ERAs and batting averages as easy as his zip code.

Honors

In addition to his sports accolades, Keith has been honored for his academics and his character. Through the years, he has received the True Gentleman’s Award, the Steve Sloan Award (outstanding student athlete) Woodman of the World and Who’s Who among High Schools & Universities.

Keith has always been active in his community.  He’s been a member of the Sertoma club, Sunrise Rotary Club, Bradley County Recreation Board and served in an interim position on the Bradley County School Board. As a public service, he has provided scoliosis screenings for all 7th graders in Bradley County.  He is a member of North Cleveland Church of God.

Community

Dr. Mills was named Keith Douglas after his parents favorite movie stars, Brian Keith & Kirk Douglas.

In addition to sports, his other loves are dogs, history, politics, great quotes, movies and music.  He and his wife, Ronna, have been to over 150 concerts (still brags about seeing Elvis in 1975) and they have seen 50+ Broadway plays.  In his music collection, he has more than 200 CD’s, 300 cassettes, 100 vinyl albums and 300 8 tracks, not to mention all his Beatles and Elvis memorabilia.  Last but not least, is his love of family, dysfunction and all.  "Do whatever it takes for family, not only because you should, but because they would do it for you. I love the line from 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' 'You think you have a weird family? Guess what, everybody does'."
